Ginkgo can do what it does only through the efforts of volunteers.
Volunteering at Ginkgo is straightforward: just show up. You don't need prior experience in gardening--we'll show you what you need to know. You don't need tools or gloves--we'll provide them. We welcome volunteers of all ages and all abilities, at all levels of commitment. Come by yourself or with a group. Bring your kids along, if you like; we even have a few pairs of tiny gardening gloves. If you'd like to organize a work session for a larger group, let us know. We'll add you to our calendar. |
Calendar
The Ginkgo work schedule follows the growing season. We start around Easter and end around Thanksgiving, depending on the weather and the availability of water.
Our Saturday morning work sessions start at around 9:30 AM, and end around lunchtime, depending on the weather. Come when you can: you don't have to stay the whole time, and you're welcome to work with us until we close the gates.
At the peak of the season, we have another work session on Wednesday evenings from around 6:30 PM until either it gets too dark to see or we yield the garden to the mosquitoes.
The calendar below will mark our start and end dates, and when large groups will be at the garden.
